San Lorenzo Center of Studies and Schools celebrated its 30th Founding Anniversary on September 28, 2020 coinciding with the feast day of the San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila, the school’s patron saint. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic the theme of the celebration was “Upholding Excellence Against All Odds,” in living up to its vision.
The celebration started with the launching of the different competitions participated by the pupils and students from grades 1 to 12. These are the following: Face Mask Design Contest for grades 1 to 6, Face Shield Design Contest for Junior and Senior High School Students. San Lorenzo Altar Design Contest for the whole family and On-the –Spot Essay Writing Contest.
The Winners for the following competitions are the following:
Face Mask Design Contest – Martha Yzabelle Salazar (Grade 5)
Face Shield Design Contest – Francine Tanig (Grade 7)
Altar Design Contest – Roberto Jose Lopinac (Grade 12)
On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest winners were Maxine Kate Bongalos, Grade 5 (Grades 4 to 6 Category), Kirby Adrielle Del Mundo, Grade 9 (Grades 7-9 Category) and Samantha Marie Bautista, Grade 11 (Grades 10-12 Category)
A virtual reunion of all teachers was also held last September 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. It was a heartwarming virtual reunion via zoom which was attended by former and present teachers and staff from 1990 to 2020 here and abroad. Teachers shared their fondest memories during their stay in San Lorenzo and even showed some memorabilia they had during their stay. The reunion was filled with laughter, tears of joy and unending stories of experiences.
To culminate the 30th Founding Anniversary, a simple salo-salo was held in school with the presence of some incorporators and the present faculty and staff. A Bingo game was also held which added excitement and fun on that day.
At 5:30 in the afternoon, a Thanksgiving Mass was held at the Metropolitan Cathedral presided by Rev. Fr. Marius Roque. The mass was broadcasted via Fb Livestreaming from the Metropolitan Cathedral. It was attended by the administration, faculty and staff of San Lorenzo Ruiz Center of Studies and Schools.
