San Lorenzo Ruiz Center of Studies and Schools has just concluded its 23rd year of successful operation this school year 2013-2014. How time flies so fast, one more year before SLR celebrates its Silver Jubilee.
Over these years, San Lorenzo has survived the challenges of the times, coped with the continuous reforms in the educational system and implemented innovations that would meet the needs of the learners and the demands of the times. There has been no dull moment at San Lorenzo. Our fine-tuned mission and vision statements sustain our passion for excellence as we focus our efforts toward the direction we have set for our institution.
Quality education at San Lorenzo has been affirmed through its accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools Colleges and Universities (PAASCU), the certification from the Fund for Assistance to Private Education (FAPE) and the many awards, academic and otherwise the school and its students win in local, regional and national competitions. A number of its graduates land in top universities in Metro Manila, UP, Ateneo, De La Salle, UST, etc; likewise, in top local universities.
For school year 2013-2014, SLRians maintained their record high performance , involvement and participation in activities and competitions in and outside the school. This is evidenced by the many awards and prizes they take home after participating in many events.
Time and experience have made us better persons and educators. We are challenged to stretch our limits, become more resourceful and creative to avail our learners, teachers and staff the maximum benefit from the opportunities and resources at SLR and the environment, be it local, regional or national.
As we culminate the ten-month long formal schooling of our students in preschool, grade and high schools we will continue to gather strength and prepare ourselves for the challenges of the coming school year 2014-2015, where the K-12 curriculum steps up on its fourth year of implementation. Our sights are directed to as far as 2016-2017 when the Senior High School (SHS) curriculum will be implemented.
This SHS curriculum requires another direction setting for us. We have to plan as early as now for its effective implementation.
May I take this opportunity to congratulate all our graduates of this school year 2013 – 2014. Continue to move on and work for the realization of your dreams. Walt Disney once said, “ If you can dream it, you can do it.”
I also would like to thank our parents and guardians for entrusting to us the basic education and formation of their children; Likewise our teachers and staff who, with their commitment and dedication to the teaching profession and their loyalty to the Mission and Vision of San Lorenzo have been giving their best for the attainment of our goals.
Let us all be one my dear parents, teachers and students in making our vision for San Lorenzo a reality. Thank you!
